Cloud and AI Security for the Mid-Market: Powered by Wiz
We’re excited to announce that The Instillery has joined the Wiz Partner Alliance Managed Service Provider Program. Through the program, we can now deliver managed cloud and AI security services powered by the Wiz AI Application Protection Platform (AI-APP), helping organisations strengthen security across their cloud, data and AI environments.
As businesses accelerate cloud and AI adoption, security teams face growing complexity, expanding attack surfaces and ongoing skills shortages. By combining our cloud operations, security and modern managed services (MMS) expertise with the power of the Wiz platform, we help mid-market customers across Australia and New Zealand understand real risk, prioritise what matters most, remediate issues at the source and stay ahead of emerging threats, all through a fully managed service model.
Key benefits include:
- Complete visibility and onboarding: We can fully deploy and manage Wiz to deliver agentless visibility across your organisations cloud and AI environments.
- Expert risk prioritisation: Using the Wiz Security Graph, our experts can evaluate misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, identities, and data exposures to turn security context into clear, actionable priorities.
- Accelerated remediation: By pairing direct remediation support with the Wiz platform, we can help organisations resolve critical risks at the root cause and continuously enforce compliance, without slowing innovation.
VITG and The Instillery, A United Entity Servicing the ANZ Mid-Market
As one of the fastest-growing technology and cybersecurity providers in Australia and New Zealand, Virtual IT Group empowers mid-market organisations with the technology, security, and expertise needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. In 2025 Virtual IT Group acquired The Instillery, a New Zealand-based technology services firm specialising in digital transformation and capability building for growth-stage businesses. Together, we operate as a united entity serving the ANZ mid-market.
A Perspective from Jeremy Nees, Chief Product Officer at VITG
Every now and then, a technology comes along that makes you stop and think, “that’s clever.” I had that moment with Wiz a few years ago.
We were no strangers to the Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and Cloud-Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP) market. In fact, as an early AWS partner, we’d been using cloud security platforms since 2011. Wiz, by comparison, launched in 2020.
Which begs the question: in a crowded market, what made Wiz different?
What Made Wiz Different?
When I think about what made Wiz different, I put it down to two things.
This was the first time I truly saw the power of a knowledge graph used to bring context to security decision-making. The Wiz Security Graph enabled Wiz to highlight toxic combinations – bad things when mixed together, such as risks that may appear low priority individually but become significant when viewed together. Previous tools were effective at highlighting risks, but they relied on humans to manually provide context. An incredibly laborious task that led to poor outcomes.
- The Wiz Integration Network (WIN).
Rather than locking perceived competitors out of the Security Graph, Wiz brings them in. This approach is crucial to enriching context, allowing customers to maximise existing technology investments and, perhaps most importantly, it means that Wiz doesn’t try to be all things to all people. Instead, it focuses on integrating with the broader ecosystem to deliver better security outcomes.
A Platform for Secure-By-Design and AI Automation
What became increasingly apparent to me was that the same foundations that make Wiz effective today, contextual intelligence and rich integrations, are also the foundations required for AI to operate safely and autonomously.
That’s why I believe Wiz is so well positioned for the future. It’s helping mid-market organisations across ANZ move towards a secure-by-design cloud operating model, where security is embedded across applications, data and AI from day one. As AI adoption accelerates, this approach will be increasingly important in addressing the Five Eyes cyber security agencies call to action around the rise of AI-borne vulnerabilities. We’re excited to partner with Wiz to help our customers innovate securely and stay ahead of emerging risks by keeping their cloud platforms secure-by-design.
What the Wiz Partner Alliance Managed Service Provider Program Means for Customers
Beyond the technical innovation, the launch of the Wiz Managed Service Program demonstrates a smart and practical approach to making enterprise-grade cloud security more accessible. Wiz has created a consumption model that enables us to deliver its platform as a managed service, supported by monthly billing and multi-tenant management capabilities that simplify deployment and operations.
According to Andrew Mann, AVP, Channel Sales, Asia Pacific & Japan at Wiz, “The Instillery stood out as an ideal partner for the MSSP program due to their capability in both cloud operations and security and ability to marry these functions together. When combined with their consistent desire to keep their customers ahead of the curve, we will collectively be able to keep Australian and NZ businesses safer.”
While it’s tempting to believe the best technology always wins, the reality is that technology only delivers value when it’s implemented and operated effectively. The Wiz Partner Alliance Managed Service Provider Program gives us the ability to do exactly that, combining world-class cloud security with our cloud operations and modern managed services expertise. The result is a more practical, scalable way to help customers strengthen security, reduce risk and innovate with confidence.
Keeping Mid-Market Organisations Ahead of What’s Next
Cloud and AI are transforming the way organisations operate, but they’re also reshaping the security landscape. By combining our cloud operations, security and managed services expertise with the power of the Wiz platform, we’re helping customers gain the visibility, context and confidence they need to innovate securely.
And its partnerships like this that help us deliver on our commitment to keep customers ahead of what’s next.
